The 2012 Porsche 911 Cabriolet officially launched in Detroit

The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet was officially launched during Detroit Auto Show. This new 911 is undoubtedly one of the best combinations of sport, comfort, and style in the under-$100,000 price range. And now it's available as a convertible.

Hence, the new Carrera Cabriolet packs the same mechanical and visual updates as the coupe, but with the addition of a slicker convertible roof, which can open and close in just 11 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph. The roof itself is made of fabric-skinned composite panels attached to a lightweight magnesium frame with a real glass window glued in.

By the way, Porsche sells a lot of 911 Cabriolets in the U.S. (it's the largest market in the world for drop-top 911s).
